Ocean’s Creek is a brand new 4-star hotel under Shanti Hospitality, catering to an audience in pursuit of an exhilarating getaway in Mauritius. The hotel required a meticulously crafted brand identity that captivates and connects with young adventurous travellers at this idyllic coastal retreat.

Challenge & Pivot
Working alongside the creative agency Inedi Designs & Co, my role was to enhance and extend the identity so it could be applied consistently across real-world touchpoints.
When the Covid-19 pandemic shifted the hotel’s positioning, the focus moved from a luxury retreat to an adventurous beach destination aimed at young, free-spirited travelers. This required adapting the existing system with scalable logos, an expanded color palette, and flexible applications that stayed true to the brand while aligning with the new guest experience.
Making A Design Statement
Logo
The original wordmark captured the hotel’s connection to the sea with elegant wave like movements. To make it more responsive, I developed secondary version and compact lockups that worked better on small-scale applications.
Colours
Ocean Blue and Ocean Red were at the heart of the identity. With expanded colour palette like Ocean Tan, Ocean Gray, and tertiary shades to introduce more warmth and flexibility. This made the system feel both vibrant and relaxed, suited for a beach hotel environment.
Typography
Open Sans formed the functional base, supported by Crystal Sky for expressive accents. I built a hierarchy that kept communications clear while letting playful touches come through in menus, keycards, and door hangers.

We prioritised creating a memorable guest experience in every aspect. Being a beach hotel, our vibrant beach palette brand identity is integral to enhancing this experience.
From the moment guests arrive, they are immersed in a visual feast of vibrant coastal-inspired hues. This creates a tranquil and leisurely atmosphere, setting the stage for an adventurous holiday.

In addition, I had the opportunity to design and implement a range of meticulously crafted merchandise that not only enriches the Oceans Creek Hotel brand experience but also serves for brand outreach.
These thoughtfully curated items, cherished as keepsakes by guests, allow them to carry a piece of the Oceans Creek experience with them while also elevating their beach experience to new heights.
